We would love to hear your reports and see photos of your catches to help fellow anglers. Please email info@spotonfishinghobart.com.au or send them to our Facebook/Instagram Page.

Tuna – they had a quite spell for a couple of weeks but have come back in with force with large numbers of school fish being caught and a good number of bigger models also being caught.  Fish have been caught in the last week in Storm Bay, Friars, Eaglehawk Neck, Maria Island, Schouten Island, and St Helens.

Calamari - big squid have been caught throughout the channel and up the east coast.  Yamashita warm jacket jigs are producing the goods on the bigger models.

Mackerel – quite a few people have been seeing and catching mackerel throughout the Derwent estuary and up the east coast.  Any kind of small flashy lure or fly is working well.

Salmon – some bigger model salmon have been seen around port Arthur and Norfolk Bay.

Gummy Shark – good reports of some nice sized gummies throughout storm, bay running sinker rigs with big pilchards have been doing the trick.

Flounder – are going well if you can find a calm enough night to go out for a look.  People have also been seeing good numbers of garfish while out floundering.

Trout – sea runners have slowed down but anglers fishing up at Craigbourne with Powerbait and flies have been getting some really nice browns and rainbows.  Great lake has also been fishing well for those brave enough to tackle the cold, fish have been very active around the edges chasing Galaxia with reports of fish even rising to midge in the middle of the day.
